Paid £66 a month for years for Tesco pet insurance. When it came to the operation my dog had to have to remove a tumour which cost £500, they refused to pay for it which meant I had to. They were very rude when I said this wasn’t fair at all and not helpful at all! I cancelled my insurance on the spot and have gone with Pet Plan, who charge half! Only £33 a month. Do not go with Tesco! They are profiteers who only care about filling their own pockets.

Been with Tesco car insurance for years never made a claim never really talked to them until now. My car failed it’s MOT in Feb 2014 and the cost of repair was more than the cars worth. After deciding upon a new car I gathered a few quotes then asked Tesco for a quote which was over 3 times as much as the others even with over 9 years no claims.

So I decided to cancel my insurance with Tesco Car Insurance. I informed Tesco they were expensive and they did not even try to compete nor ask how much the other quotes were. I went ahead with another well known Insurance provider and called Tesco Car Insurance to cancel my existing policy which they informed me would cost me £70 (seventy pound!) cancellation fee. I was kinda surprised although assured there was no way round the cost of leaving.

I believe this is the Tesco Car Insurance way of making you stay with them although after being with them over 6 years I find their reward to loyalty mis-placed. There response to the cancellation fee was we like to treat all our customers the same which keeps things fair. Fair enough I’ll vote with my feet.

I insured my pet Doberman under then accident only policy about 11 months ago, reasonable price and hoped I wouldn’t need it.
Well within the last two months he has caught his front left leg on barb wire, then three weeks later slice his left paw open needing twenty stitches.
When this happens you don’t want to be worrying about a claim, this is where Tesco’s were brilliant all I did was print off a form, fill in basic details and give it to my vet, after all treatment was finished they sent it off and Tesco’s sent me an advice and approvement letter plus a cheque to the vets.
I pay £6 per month, two treatments totalled £1450.
    Well done Tesco!

I have pet insurance for my dogs. Initial premium quotes were competitive, and any claims have always been paid promptly. However my dog has now reached the end of life, she is 13, but still pretty healthy. She has a long term condition and is on permanent medication, which the insurance no longer covers as it is limited to 12 months. The premium has gone up by more than 30% on last years and is now more than £100 per month, even though it doesn’t cover her medication. Beware what looks like a good deal at the start, once a dog turns 8 it becomes more difficult to find insurance and the company have you over a barrel when it comes to putting up the price!

I had a lorry reverse into the side of my parked car. He was determined to
settle privately but I wasn’t comfortable with this as he wanted the repair
to be done by “his mate”. The next day, I decided to call my Insurers, Tesco and claim. I have only had cover with them for a month. After only 3 options on the phone, I was through. The person on the other end was polite, efficient, friendly and after taking all the details of the accident, told me that within 2 hours, I would get a call back from a bodyshop of their choosing. Within an hour, the call came through and 30 mins later my car was at the bodyshop and exchanged with a courtesy car. 4 days later, I have my car back. No fuss, no grief, no mountains of paperwork or pics to draw or to send in. Job done! Tesco were fab! I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Tesco.

I’m not sure where to start with Tescos – their claims line is terrible and their staff have an horrendous attitude. They keep you hanging on for ages to talk to somebody and when you do they won’t give you a direct contact number so if you need to talk to them again you need to call in to a main number, go through annoying options and then explain yourself each time. Somebody hit the side of my car in a supermarket car park and drove off. I got their details but they denied the claim. There was a lot of conversations that needed to be had with the claims department but I could never get through. When they emailed me they did it from an address I couldn’t reply to! Tesco arranged for repairs but they would be better to improve their call centre staff and make it easier to talk to them.

My guttering blew down during the storms in Newcastle in September. Tesco sent somebody around to look at the damage within 3 days. They appointed a local building company that came and made repairs the following week.
