We have travel insurance, car insurance and household insurance all with Saga.
I have always found them exceedingly helpful on the telephone and recently when a claim was made on the travel insurance it was handled direct by the medical staff from the cruise ship, with absolute efficiency.
We changed the car recently and again the efficiency of person we spoke to was brillent. OK SAGA are not the cheapest, but their service is wonderful
Type of insurance (e.g. Home/Travel/Motor/Phone/Pet): Travel, Car, Home
SAGA!!!!…here I am writing this at my wits end…our Boston terrier had an emergency c section earlier in the year…. Almost 2 months after the op she was one day a little lethargic and not herself so we took her to the vets who in turn gave her a thorough examination and prescribed medication.
The vet said that it was probably something she had eaten in the garden. So being insured, I went through the claims procedure knowing that you cannot claim for anything to do with pregnancy, which this was not. Saga declined my claim on the basis that they say it was to do with the op 2 months earlier!!!
My vet very kindly wrote to confirm that it wasn’t….still refused. My vet next very kindly personally called them…. to no avail… Still declined…
I just don’t get it…..what more can I do… What more proof is required?
SAGA insurance…’Shameful And Generally Against…..your claims…’
Type of insurance (e.g. Home/Travel/Motor/Phone/Pet): Pet
I had a claim for slipped tiles and water damage with the recent gales and storms. To begin with Saga were great and dealt with the claim quickly and sent somebody around to look at the damage. Turns out he was a loss adjuster who said that the damage was ‘wear and tear ‘ even though me and my neighbours all suffered the same sort of damage with the wind, snow and rain. Saga refused the claim. I won’t be renewing
