    Do not go with Pet Plan to insure your new pets, they are shockingly slow, bad service, do not keep you in the loop and you have to chase them 5 times in just over a month, with a shocking outcome! After such bad service, with awful excuses of not covering me, they then decided after two reassessments there was a two day break from the breeders cover to me renewing the policy. Even though the breeder bought the policy on the 18th of the month and I called them to renew it on the 17th of the following month. At the same time I also told them that the kitten was showing some signs of illness, which they had asked me to contact my vets to fax over the symptoms, which I did, but they still denied my claim. THEY ARE BAD! UNHELPFUL and you need a lot of time to chase them, week after week, whilst they send the claims for reassessment more than the once because they are doing such an awful job of managing the upkeep of their files.

    Just to say how impressed I am with Pet Plan’s service. My dog has been unlucky with his health & they have always paid out promptly without any fuss. When you are worrying about a sick pet then this excellent service means you have one less thing to worry about. I am a dog groomer & recommend Pet Plan to all of my clients.

    I took out Petplan insurance for my Rottweiler puppy almost 8 years ago. I took out Full Cover for life. Monthly payments started off at £23 per month. Now they are £98 with an excess every year for £147. The wording ‘for life’ is a bit misleading. Didn’t know that meant you had to renew your insurance every year and each year you have an excess for the same condition. After this period of time no other insurance company would cover him now. People should be made aware of this before taking out insurance.

    I am 100% happy with pet plan. My Rottweiler puppy tore his cruciate ligament due to growing so hard. I can say I had a quick response and payment to me minus the excess of course. For the surgery and after care they paid the vet direct and gave me peace of mind as if I were not insured I would have had to find about £4,000 for his treatment.

    I’ve had to make a claim for my dog and I’d like to thank Petplan for their prompt and efficient service. My claim form was submitted on Monday, received my settlement today after four days – fantastic. Full settlement, no questions asked. Pet plan might be a little more expensive than some pet insurances, but that makes up for the quality of their service.

    Please be careful if you are making an insurance claim with this company. My dog was ill for only 9 WEEKS before sadly passing away and although they have covered his treatment, I am being made to pay two lots of excess as his extremely short illness fell over two policy years. Please read your insurance documents carefully. Many things not covered such as specialist food when the animal can’t eat anything else and also the cost of having him put to sleep.
