I had a Lloyds buildings policy for 14 years. I never claimed at any point during this period. The only customer service I received each year was a renewal notice. Whilst I did not know it, nor was I notified, the price was increased considerably each year and of course this compounded over 14 years. This years quote was huge. So finally I checked the quote and unbelievably it was 320% of the highest quote on money supermarket.com and 400% of current market quote from Lloyds themselves!! Was this an error? On the contrary. I challenged this with customer complaints and eventually told ‘they were happy with the calculations’. Will be taking this to the FCA. And I renewed with an alternative provider with a considerably higher level and quality of insurance cover and great customer service for a little more than a third of the Lloyds renewal quote. Lesson learned.

I used this for a cracked screen repair on my iPhone. The casing round the screen had also been dented and needed to be replaced for a secure fit to the screen.

What they don’t make clear up front is that they keep a hold of the phone for at least 3 days once you have sent it at your own expense.

My first repair had to be sent back as the casing hadn’t been replaced, leaving gaps in the seal around the screen.

After I sent it back, it was repaired a second time & sent back to a wrong address. They replaced the casing, this time with a different secondhand case, also scratched and dented, leaving a small gap in the seal at the top of the screen.

I complained about an incomplete job and have been told that as the damage is cosmetic they won’t do anything more. No apologies.

With an excess of £100 for iPhones, i find this service an absolute disgrace.
I’m currently taking this to the Financial Ombudsman.

Unless you are using this insurance for a replacement I would seriously suggest avoiding using them.

Disgusting service, took forever and left me with out a car for 3 weeks.
No communications and forever passed to axa, budget, minster law solicitors but never lloyds .

After 3 weeks of being ignored i sent 40 emails and spent in excess of £70 on the phone. At no point did my claim ever getvsorted so i had no option ut cancel it pay over £1499 to get the issue resolved. Lloyds insurance have since ignored my complaint. . Promised me a hire / courtesy car but again nothing
It has left me without a car for over 5 weeks now.. My policy has just come up for renewal and after no claims in ten years plus they doubled my policy costings. Again no letter no word of warning just a email saying policy renewed new price is xxxx amount.

I would never use this company again. I had a car insurance quote and that should have been it. There were queries about my no claim discount, saying i had an accident on a specif month when i didn’t. I found the next best insurance company which was the Halifax Bank. I then tried to get my money back, what a laugh. I was first put through to another insurance company, passed back to lloyds, then passed to home insurance, then passed to someone who hadn’t got a clue what he was talking about, then passed back to customer services when i said i want to complain, i was told there isnt a complaints dept. Then i was finally passed to someone who knew what to do and dealt with my problem in 2 minutes. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Should be a health warning using this company my blood pressure is sky high.

If you have phone insurance with Lloyds as part of your bank account, be warned that the ‘cheap’ insurance as part of your account comes at a high price in terms of the time it takes to make a claim. The Lloyds TSB system, run by a company called Lifestyle something or other, is really time consuming and frustrating. First you have to inform them that the phone is lost/damaged, then they send you an actual claim form, then rather than asking for the phone at this point, they assess your form, and if the claim is approved, they send you an envelope. This will have already taken over a week, at which point the repair process starts which can take a couple of weeks on top. If the phone is beyond repair, they will make a payment to your account but this takes up to 10 days (how can this be when they are a bank?) After waiting three weeks for a repair on a cracked screen, only to be told that there is water damage, and I’ll be getting a financial settlement, I’m still waiting of my money, and I’ve given in on packaged bank account insurance.

I have travel insurance as part of my Lloyd’s bank account. My handbag was stolen from a beach bar along with my purse (which was in the handbag). I immediately reported it to the local police (and had to pay a “small fee” to get a crime report) and told Lloyds. My bank made the whole claims process very difficult. Even though I had just taken money out of the bank (using my Lloyd’s card) they refused to cover most of the money stolen. Also, my handbag had only been purchased 2 months before but they only paid out a small part of what I paid for it (arguing that it had been signifcantly reduced in value by fair wear and tear). They disputed the value of my make-up and other items and insisted on receipts for everything even though some of the make-up was given to me as gifts. After deduction of the excess and Lloyds reducing most of the claim amounts, I ended up over £500 out of pocket by the time I bought the identical handbag, got replacement make-up and covered my own cash loss. What made matters worse was the length of time between claim and settlement.

I have ‘free’ phone insurance through lloyds bank platinum card so after dropping my iPhone into a puddle, cracking the front and back screen and damaging the microphone I decided to claim. First i was sent by post a long form to complete with damage and incident details which I had to send back to the loss adjusters together with a cheque for £50 for excess. They agree to mend my phone so I have to then send phone by which time 8 days has passed. They take 4 days to return the phone. They replaced back and front glass (but with really thick raised glass and didn’t improve the sound at all. But I didnt complain because I couldn’t face being without my phone for any longer. Next time I broke the screen I took it to a local repair shop – they mended both front and back screen (with better glass) replaced the battery and slightly improved the sound – all while I waited for £60. I will not bother send the phone off again although suspect if that isn’t their ploy all along!
