    bought motorhome & grove &dean rescue schedule in sept 2015 ( e.r.s.)first weeks holiday in motorhome to scotland on 6th feb2016 on a single track road off the a712 a deer ran out and i had to break hard to avoid the beast resulting in the drivers side bogged down and leaning dangerously over a grass verge / embankment my wife and i managed to climb out of the drivers side door in total shock thinking how on earth did that happen the weather was blowing a gale and freezing cold rain so i rang my rescue shedule from equity red star to be told i was not covered under the policy ( i had everything other than eu cover ) so was forced to pay 150quid over a very poor signal mobilephione within 15 minutes of calling i had managed to get a signal and rank back the break down people to cancel ( getting out of the situation another story ) was told we would be charge 90 quid now / at least dick turpin had the decency to wear a mask ! spent the holiday a mile from the incident and only realised on the there is a problem with the steering and limped the vehicle back home ? total rip off the rescue policy at the time seemed good value but it is clearly not will never ever use again and to cap it all off now we are back home checked the bank statement and e.r.s. have still taken the £150.00 not happy totally furious will definately not let this lie and will read any future insurance / breadown cover reviews before handing over any cash it seems i needed to hit this 1 ton beast and possibly write the motorhome off before rescue would have arrived ??

    What a waste off time. This insurance company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I had a accident in July still no resolve. Keep being sent around in circles. Inflicted even more damage on my vehicle whilst in there possession. No replys to my emails or calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

    Totally incompetent organisation. My son is insured with Equity Red Star as they were the least criminally high priced company for Third Party Fire and Theft. As he is a new driver the policy was nearly £2,000. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, the rear windscreen was smashed and the ERS were called. The call was made at approx 6pm on Saturday and the best ETA for the replacement was Weds (4 days later). I am not sure who can manage for 4 days without their car but this was the shortest time possible and we just had to deal with this. Unfortunately he was due to leave on holiday on Weds morning and ERS were made aware of this over the course of many phone calls. We were told that we would be called on Weds morning to tell us when the screen would be fitted. ERS’ partner called to tell us that we were booked in for the afternoon. When I told them that we had made it very clear that it was extremely urgent and that the car was needed in the morning they said that there were no notes on their system about this. A further series of phone calls had to be made, during which we were told that contrary to the fact we were unhappy about this oversight the fact that we were having a screen fitted 4 days after making our initial phone call meant that we were receiving “good service”. We did managed to persuade the window fitters to rearrange their jobs and come to us earlier. When they turned up they had the front windscreen in their van and had to go back to base. ERS were apologetic but much less than helpful in trying to resolve this problem. Then they dropped a bombshell which was very surprising. After having made many phone calls and given policy number and registration number etc each time we were then told that the windscreen replacement was not covered. This should have been made clear from the first phone call. I will never use this company again and having now read all the negative reviews I realise that we should have stumped up a couple of hundred pounds to use another company.

    I would agree with the previous writer. These people are appalling at handling anything. I have know several people who have come under severe pressure because Equity won’t pay out for claims they are responsible for. 3 people I know had a hire car which they needed after an accident that was not their fault and the ‘At fault’ party was with Equity. All 3 people couldn’t get their hire bill paid and each one is getting nasty letters from the hire company who are waiting to be paid. A phone call to Equity always ends in ‘Will be looked at shortly’ but never is. The longest of the 3 waiting to be settled is 18 months and it looks like he will now have to pay the bill as Equity will not face up to their responsibilities. The other 2 have also waited over 12 months so far with no joy. Keep well clear of this shower.

    In 40 years worth of car insurance policies without a single claim, I have never dealt with such incompetent people as Equity Red Star through Adrian Flux in all my life.

    A fully paid annual policy was cancelled after 2 months because I mailed them a scanned copy of page 2 of the V5C instead of page 1. This after having to provide scanned copies of both sides of drivers licence of card and paper copy for all named drivers ….. seriously???
    No claim or anything else involved – I am intouch with the Ombudsman over this outfit.

    So they canceled my policy, despite being a customer for 4 years with another car still insured by them and never making a claim – great service quality eh.
    Never use…, I will never touch this incompetent bunch….ever again!
