I have just received all the paperwork for my new car insurance with them and noticed that by mistake I ticked the box that says I am a homeowner (I wish but that will probably not happen any time soon).
I called Churchill to correct that detail and was told that I will now be charged £117 more, which is over 25% of what I have already paid! Such a discrimination for people that are not homeowners! It is despicable especially looking at the housing crisis these days! And I already get higher quotes for not being married! Outrageous!

After loading my NCS certificate into the Churchill customer portal and been accepted I obtain my insurance certificate and all is well, or is it………
A few weeks after taking out my policy I receive a letter advising I owe money to Churchill for an overlap on my NCD against another vehicle.

I question why I would pay this £42 charge when my NCD certificate was accepted and money taken from my account, for the new policy no response from Churchill.

I then receive a second letter advising Churchill can no longer insure me past August 2017. Ok no issue I will go hunting for a better deal next year.
Still they take payments from my account.

A week passes by and then I receive a letter (back dated) advising me I am no longer insured on my vehicle and my policy is void.

To put it into context I had been driving nearly a week completely oblivious I was uninsured because Churchill decided to cancel my insurance policy without any notification other than a letter advising my policy would end in August 2017.

What started as a small discrepancy about a fee surrounding my NCD has now quickly escalated into a potential small claims for Churchill as I’ve taken it to a lawyer to deal with.

Churchill kept all of the money I paid for my policy, have taken no responsibility for their admin faults, I’ve had to take out a brand new policy with another provider and to compound how bad Churchill are they then charged me an extra fee because somehow their issue is my fault and their customer services team have gone into hiding as no one their has the decency to do the right thing and call an ex customer to smooth it over and accept liability.

An abysmal company with no customer care and no responsibility to their customers or other road users.

I would hate to think what would have happened if I had crashed Churchill.

Appalling, uncaring service. Not adverse to hanging up on customer’s phone calls either!!! Penny pinching, bordering on dangerous practice. Will NEVER use Churchill again for any type of insurance and have advised all friends and family never to consider them!!

What a shabby company.no one knows what their doing.
Car hit us damaged my car and third party’s
They have done nothing.12 months later I receive a claim from third party.came to me not Churchill as they were dragging their feet and doing nothing. Phoned Churchill told them what had happened.sent it to us they said .
I sent it recorded. Have they received no one knows
I paid fully comp insurance which covers mine and third party no matter who was to blame. No wonder they can offer those silly talking dogs.at my expense. They want to concentrate more on what their supposed to be doing.

I cancelled my insurance, but later received a letter from them saying I owed a months money as my D Debit had been stopped. I rang and set a letter sating I’d cancelled the insurance and couldn’t owe money for insurance as it was cancelled. They said they had no record of me cancelling and their system couldn’t be wrong. To cut a long! story short After many letters and calls in which I was blatantly lied to ( they kept telling me the lady i was trying to sort this with was out or had just left. Eventually I was told that she had a long running illness and hadn’t been in for weeks. When I asked how come I’ve been told she was out or just left I was rudely cut off!) I paid the money to get their debt collectors off my back, but have complained to the ombudsman about this matter. Don’t touch these liars with a barge pole or you could well live to regret it.

Absolutely ghastly company to deal with – it took Churchill nearly a year to settle a £400 no fault claim, and now giving us the runaround over cover on our current car and every time we call we just get given more nonsense by the person on the phone… Customer Service they dont have a clue about customer service!

I am currently in dispute with Churchills regarding my claim for a buried pipe going in my wall. Its damaged more than half my kitchen . 9 units in kitchen, 4 damaged possibly 5 (when next to oven is pulled out)plus work top plinth cornice splash back and oven 2 electric sockets are all ruined tiles plasterwork flooring etc. They will only replace new for old units (which are from the non existent MFI Schrieber range) They expect me to pay for rest as in a clause in exclusions they will not pay for matched sets. As such they are saying they are only liable to for the damaged units and expect us to have a mix and matched kitchen.Complained to them and now to financial ombudsman. At the minute they phoned and offered 25% on other units. They have only allowed £112 per 600ml base unit inclusive of doors .£52 for removing and replacing 1.35 metres of 10cm tiles. There is more like 2.50 metres. These cost me over 5 times this for buying and paying or adhesive and a tiler. This is for fitting and removal of the old units too. At the minute 3 quotes in at over £5300 each just for replacing refitting kitchen BnQ, Wrens, Howdens. This is without the extra cost for emergency dismantling tiles removal and electrical works before the pipe could be mended which I have paid for already to the tune of £750.At the moment they are estimating the cost of the whole works is £1700 all in.So after paying my electrician my plumbing is not covered???? I am left with the paltry some of less than £1000 to pay for a new kitchen and fitting and a new oven.Buyer beware okay price but not ok unless you like being uninsured in the long run. I haven’t got £3000 extra to spend so watch out for this part of set clause.Imagine if you had more units in yours the potential cost. The clause is quite hidden and they didn’t tell me about this when I discussed my policy with them.

I made a claim with Churchill in march as I had a car accident and was forever ringing up Churchill to chase up the progress of my car that was being repaired as Churchill never got in contact with myself to let me know what was going on when they said they would and was without a car for 4 weeks! I have just received my phone bill and have been charged £15 for the calls I have had to make to Churchill. I have rang Churchill to see if I can get any of this money refunded for the inconvenience I was caused and have been told phone charges cannot be refunded. What a joke Churchill is!
