Had home insurance with them, thought I have legal cover, but it seems I have missed a webcheck box, despite proving that in the years before switching I have always bought legal cover. They refused to consider this.

They however did a review, before realising that, on the basis of me having legal cover, and decided that the claim was disproportionate in value for them to take or fund, so refused even if I had had the cover!!!

I went on to pay for it myself costing 20% of the value they quoted it would cost, and won on all counts, and the judge made them withdraw it due to flaws in the claim, which were missed by their reviewing solicitor, which should have identified it as an automatic win, to go in the higher track, so any money would have been recovered anyway.

Complete waste of time and money and I intend to lodge complaints about them and will never use barclays insurance again.

Be aware its very little to do with Barclays, who I chose thinking it was a good brand only to be palmed off to Aviva who clearly are the type you try to find every way to not pay or fund you. NEVER again.

If you are thinking of using Barclays Insurance, I would most definitely not. Be aware that where you have your policy they will likely use the “we wont fund it as its disproportionate in value for us to do that, or the chance of your winning is not greater enough”. So it’s not the cover I thought I was buying, and it amounts to a “no win no funding you” type of policy. I am disgusted.

In addition to that staff at both Barclays and especially at Aviva were appalling in their understanding and approach to me.

I basically was being sold a policy that does nothing and likely cant be activated unless there is a great chance of winning and at little cost to them. Appalled.

So you buy legal expenses cover to have peace of mind, and it gave me nothing buy stress.

I was also told that if I was sued I would be covered, but then when that happened they said there is no record of that conversation and could I prove it, clearly not when verbal on their recorded lines.

And I agree with one of the other reviewers this is the worst insurance experience I have had in 25 years of buying insurance.

First my claim I ever done since I opened my bank account with Barclays .As they stated before , the quality of insurance service now has realy improved , so tech pack price have been recently raised from 9.50 to 12.50 . Yes , the claim of my totaly damaged mobile phone was approved straight away and excess of 75 £ was taken immediately. This is just one thing, that LSG cowboys can do quickly. During next 2 weeks they has failed 2 mobile phone orders with no apologies and finally YES , the DPD courier arrived to replace my totally damaged phone with OLDER MODEL !!!! I have checked it straight away and did not accept the parcel , the picture of that they tried to supply me has also taken and sent to LSG .So now I have purchased the mobile phone by myself and sent receipt to LSG to get my claim paid in.They were warn about such step. Now is about 4 weeks since I placed the claim, but no payment from LSG yet.I have saved all screenshots from my claim page and have no point to lie here .People should also to take a look at some scandals with LSG, there they have used non originals parts for expensive mobile phones repaires, that voided manufacturing warranties . Simply avoid this scam ,,company”.

Im very happy with Barclays insurance service. Top class. Process, app, customer service, terms and conditions, everything so easy and doesn’t make problems at all. They are best. Lost my iPhone Friday night, receiving new one on Sunday. It took just one day and its not even working day. I’m truly satisfied and happy !!!:))

The most expensive insurer I ever had. The premium keeps creeping up even if you do not make a claim. They may give you a good starting premium. Do not give them a chance to automatic renewal. You will regret

We have gadget insurance through a bank account that my husband pays for. I have been impressed with how easy it was to register the gadgets and then again with how easy it was to make a claim. The problems started when we expected them to deal with the claim. I packaged my damaged iPhone and sent it off and as per the documents expected that within 3 working days I’d hear something. My husband called for an update on the 2nd working day, the call handler reeled off the party line of “a replacement or a fixed phone will be returned within 3 working days.” Considering we had already checked royal mail and knew that the phone had been signed for, we were pleased with that and waited. On what would have been the 4th working day when we hadn’t heard anything, my husband calls again and finds out that they don’t appear to have received the phone. Obviously he gives them the tracking number and they find it and get it sorted and sent out within a few hours. However – the appalling customer service given by the first person who clearly had not even bothered to look at the file before reading his script and moving on means that I could not and would not recommend this company to anyone, regardless of the fact that the insurance product is actually very good.

I smashed the screen on my Samsung s7 edge on Saturday, it still worked but I didn’t want to drop it and damage it any further. I rang Barclays insurance on the Monday, the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and told me immediately that my claim his gone through. I paid the £25 excess over the phone. I received the form on the Wednesday, which I was very impressed with as i put in the claim on a bank holiday. I posted my damaged phone off with the form today with Royal Mail, it only cost £7.25 for guaranteed next day delivery and its insured if it is lost or delivered late. I was told on the phone it will take around 3 days to fix and then they allow another 3 days postage time. So far I am very impressed with the service. Hoping I will get my phone back soon. So far I would recommend using Barclays insurance. £9.99 a month for up to 3 gadgets. Absolutely brilliant customer service as well.

It is the worst insurance company that I ever experienced, they are not helpful and it is such a waste of money. They didn’t accept my claim and they returned my phone broken. When I talked with them they said it isnt our foult

Absolutely disgusting company so unhelpful in every aspect of the word my phone smashed last night and because I took a claim out a few months ago they won’t fix it again I know have to miss out on a weeks wages thanks to this unhelpful procedure! I was in absolute bits on the phone to them as I can’t b without my phone due to my three year old with health issues they didn’t care in the slightest! I’ve paid my money to them every single time it’s been due so to not b able to make a claim I find absolutely disgusting! I’ve cancelled my pack with these and will also be closing my account with Barclays

Everytime i ring i am told its with the highter assesment team.

Insured my sons phone for him as he’s a typical teenager with an expensive iPhone 6. He went to a Theme Park with friends and dropped his phone on the ground which smashed the screen very badly. I eventually got him to part with it and sent it off to LSG via Barclays . I filled in the check boxes accurately as a few things had started to go wrong since it smashed. I sent if off registered post on the Monday which I was able to track. I phoned to see if they could tell me roughly how long it would be . The lady was very helpful and gave me an estimated time but made no promises. I had an email to say it would be delivered by DPD on the Friday with regular updates and a link to show the drivers estimated delivery time. Great service ! phone sent Monday and delivered back Friday of the same week , looking new and working excellently. One happy Teenager. Would definitely use this service again.

Avoid at all costs! Most disgraceful company ever

i had the unfortunate situation in dealing with this company, having insured through Barclays Tech Pack. Sent me my laptop back broken on 2 occasions and accussed me of insurance benefit fraud. The managers are an absolute disgrace and have no customer service skills whatsoever. I urge you to cancel your insurance policies with them they will stress you out and not listen to a single word you say. Just google them and you will see that they send you fake items back etc I’ll be taking them now to the Financial Ombudsman.

I made a successful claim and it was all fine. However my original phone was handed to the Lost Property Office and I thought that was a great news! I found out that now a legal owner is the insurance company, so they are the ones who can collect the phone and then send it to me. Unfortunately Barclays refused to do that. So they ended up having my phone + £100 from me.

I was in park with my son and Someone stole my equipment and all my staff include my iPhone 6 128GB which was in my son’s pushchair and I had claim from my policy and they said : THE PHONE WAN NOT WITH YOU WHEN YOU LOSE IT, I can not believe it if my phone will be always with me no reason to lose or theft from me so no reasons to insure my gadget.
ridicules reason to decline my claim.

I cannot recommend Barclays as an insurance provider at all. I have had 2 incidences with separate phones that have had to be replaced, both took weeks to even hear if my claim had gone through and both times I was sent faulty replacement phones. They only provide re-serviced phones and not brand new phones which is fine but I wasn’t told this when I signed up only afterwards when I had already entered into the agreement.

The second time I had to send in my charger as part of the issue was to do with the battery and when my replacement phone came I was not sent a charger to go with it. I was then told I would be sent a charger and then a week later when it hadn’t arrived I was told that they do not do chargers but they will credit my account with money to purchase a charger.

Even filing a complaint has been a nightmare. I have just been sent a letter to say that my complaint cannot be dealt with so I see this as a complete waste of money and time which is unfortunate as I have happily banked with Barclays for many years with no issue.

Each step of this process has been unacceptable.

My phone was stolen from my bag… I immediately reported to the phone company and the police, went to the barclays insurance website and followed the procedure. In no time they sent me an email followed by a call telling me that my claim was approved and my iPhone would be replaced. I am really happy with Barclays and for the amount I pay monthly it is really a bargain. Thanks guys!

Tip to users: Just follow the procedure and sort out the paperwork the same day and you won’t have any problems.

I pay £15 per month for my account with Barclays which entitles me to insure my Mobile Phone and tech goods up to £500. I think its the ‘Additions Account’ I had my iPhone 4 stolen on the 5th of April 2013, reported on the 6th. I called Barclays to claim for this and they passed me onto their outsourced insurance company – Lifestyle Services Group. Firstly, it was news to me that that I had to pay an excess on any claim for a mobile phone. I was told this was £100! After looking back through my documentation and online at Barclays the excess is quoted as £75. I called LSG back and mentioned the mistake and they told me that Barclays had recently changed this to £100 and that I should have been notified. I wasn’t! Secondly, LSG offer a referbished phone and on the claim form say that if you want the same phone as you had before this may extend the delivery time. Of course when I insure something I expect to be provided with the same piece of kit that I’ve insured! Thirdly, LSG Customer Service is shockling!! In fact the CS exec was quite rude when I brought up the discrepencies in the excess amounts, displaced all responsibilty and was very unhelpful saying its not his problem and I would have to take this up with Barclays. Now I’m all for outsourcing if a company specialies in a certain thing and can do a better job than you building that dept inhouse but surely Barclays would be rather pissed if they knew their outsourced comany was treating customers like this and basically slagging them off! I have now been asked by LSG to provide proof of purchase. Fair enough. Orange have been massively tardy with this and I have recieved 3 seperate pieces of information as to when this letter will actually arrive. I requested this on the 14th and Orange have now given me a date of 2nd May for arrival of this to my address. Really?!?! How difficult is it to send out a piece of sodding paper? So after I get the proof of purchase I then have to send it off to LSG who will then send out my new phone within 5 days. However, I have ticked the ‘I only want the same make of phone as my old one’ so I guess I’ll be waiting an indeterminate amount of time to recieve this. Hey, they could prove me wrong but I’m doubtful. Before even making the claim I headed to Twitter to see if it was possible to chase things up there if things start dragging. Lo and behold LSG don’t have a Twitter account but they do have a hell of a lot of complaints on there. To conclude, compare my situation with a friend of mine who pays £12 for Orange insurance. He lost his phone, within 2 days he had a brand new iPhone (same model) delivered to his door. Simple. Although, I am pissed at Orange taking forever to send my proof of purchase and still think this delivery time is redic, as soon as I have my new phone I will be cancelling my insurance with Barclays and moving to them. Moral of the story – DO not take out insurance with your bank, especially Barclays or TSB who both use LSG – it’s not worth the hassle for the savings you make!

I have mobile phone insurance as part of my bank account. Great until you try to make a claim. The claims are run by a company called Lifestyle Services Group – I only found this out after calling the number on my bank card. What they don’t tell you is that you have to claim within 24 hours. Read the small print!! My phone went missing over the weekend – probably on a messy Friday night – but I assumed it would turn up somewhere in the house as it had run out of charge so I couldn’t call it. As it has a pin nobody could use it so I left it until late on Sunday to sort out the claim and now have been told my claim is invalid as you have to tell them with 24 hours!! What a con – I could understand if somebody had used it and Barclays paid for the handset but not the calls but how can telling Barclays within 2 days invalidate a claim? It’s just a way of avoiding paying out. Wish I’d paid more & gone with Vodafone!!
