I decided to switch insurers after having my premiums go up steadily for the last three years. I got various online quotes and then called Adelaide as I’m an HGV driver and they specialise in this type of insurance. They offered to beat the online quotes by £25, and didn’t have a problem with a past claim I made. My only gripe is that I needed documents by post so I could keep in my cab and asked for this a couple of times but only got an email copy of them. I’m a bit annoyed that I’ve had to keep calling about this, which worries me a bit about what would happen if something went wrong with a claim.

They don’t do their quotes online – you have to call up and haggle with their staff and they ask you to do their work for them and shop around for quotes and send them a pdf of the best one. The number I got given was premium rate and I had to call back a few times until I sorted everything out so I rate them ‘good’ for price but ‘poor’ for customer service.
